J.D. Vance’s cousin, Nate, participated in the war in Ukraine as a volunteer battalion of the Da Vinci Wolves. About this informs Le Figaro.
Nate Vance, 47, served four years in the Marine Corps twenty years ago. From 2001 to 2022, he led an ordinary life of an average American in the state of Texas, building a career in an oil company. Vance has Republican views, is fond of hunting and sports shooting.
In March 2022, three weeks after the start of the full-scale invasion of Russia, he went to Lviv. According to him, he intended to “help somehow, with logistics or medical support.” In a Lviv hotel, Vance met a British volunteer who was looking for foreigners with military experience, and that’s how he joined the Da Vinci Wolves.
Nate Vance completed his service in Ukraine in January 2025. He emphasized that he wants to continue to support Ukraine in another way, because it really needs it. When Nate Vance heard his cousin criticize Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the Oval Office of the White House, he was outraged.
“JD is a good, smart guy. When he criticized aid to Ukraine, I told myself it was because he needed to please a certain constituency, that it was a political game.”, — noted Nate.
He also spoke about the beliefs of his cousin and Donald Trump, who believe that they will be able to “anoint” Vladimir Putin. In his opinion, they are wrong.
