Deepstate pointed out errors in installing anti-drone nets in Sumy region
The anti-drone nets installed by the regional authorities of the Sumy Oblast on highways do not create obstacles for enemy aerial reconnaissance, and at the same time there are difficulties with the materials for their installation. About this stated co-founder of the Deepstate OSINT project, Roman Pohorily.
“Military engineers pointed out to us something that we did not pay attention to: there are wooden posts that can be destroyed by a drone hit. It seems that there was an example in Donetsk region – there were steel posts that can withstand more blows than this wooden parody.” Roman Pohorily explained.
Regarding the fact that in the photo published by the regional administration, there are no anti-drone nets on the poles, Pohorily explained that the work is still ongoing and therefore “there is no point in digging.” At the same time, the expert expressed surprise at the statement of the head of the OVA Oleg Grigorov that the nets allegedly complicate enemy aerial reconnaissance.
“I don’t know how it’s possible at all, because everything is visible there. I don’t know what an anti-drone net can cover from enemy eyes.” – noted the expert.
In his opinion, the regional government is thus trying to divert the attention of the public from the lack of full-fledged fortifications in the border areas.
“It seems as if they want to divert attention: ‘Oh, look, we decided suddenly in the border areas – which border areas are also unknown, probably from the line of combat contact – to build these anti-drone nets. That is, they have only just started to install them, diverting attention from the main fortifications – engineering barriers, which are anti-tank ditches, dragon’s teeth, egos\barbed wire, minefields and the like.’ Pohorily explained.
He added that such fortifications should have appeared in this direction much earlier, but the Deepstate team did not detect their presence in the border area.
