Deputy Head of the State Migration Service Berikashvili and his wife accumulated 8.2 million hryvnias in foreign currency
Deputy head of the State Migration Service of Ukraine Kakhaber Berikashvili and his wife declared savings in foreign currency in the amount of about 8.2 million hryvnias. This is evidenced by the analysis of his declaration for 2024, conducted by 368.media journalists.
Although Berikashvili is registered in Kyiv, he actually lives in the village of Ivankovichi, Obukhiv district, which belongs to the Feodosiiv community. There is not even a photo of him on the website of the DMS, which emphasizes the closedness of the official. His family consists of his wife Natalia Volodymyrivna Berikashvili, who is a deputy of the Kyiv City Council, and his son Leon. Both are registered in the capital.
The declaration states that Berikashvili owns several plots of land, purchased even before he started working at the DMS. These are two plots in Ivankovichi with an area of 800 and 1700 square meters. m, purchased in 2012, and two more in the village of Kalinivka, Fastiv district, with an area of 1,500 and 133 square meters. m, purchased in 2010.
He also owns a residential building with an area of 279 square meters. m in Ivankovychy, purchased in 2013, and another, unfinished object, which is allegedly being built since 2015. There is no information on the purchase price of all these objects in the declaration. Ivankovichi is a village known as an expensive suburb of Kyiv, so the question arises, at the expense of which funds the official could afford such real estate before the start of public service.
The declaration also mentions the 2020 Mazda CX-5. Lydia Ivanivna Oleksandrenko is formally the owner, but Berikashvili has the right to use and dispose of this transport. Oleksandrenko is the mother-in-law of an official, former deputy head of the Vasylkivskaya ODPI.
In 2024, Kakhaber Berikashvili declared a salary of 1.67 million hryvnias and a pension of 118 thousand hryvnias. His wife received a salary of 1.42 million hryvnias as the director of the KNP “Consultative and Diagnostic Center” of the Shevchenkiv district of Kyiv.
The family keeps a significant part of their savings in cash. Berikashvili himself has 45 thousand dollars and 36.1 thousand euros, his wife – 72.6 thousand dollars and 37 thousand euros. The total equivalent amount is approximately 8.25 million hryvnias.
The journalists of 368.media turned to the NAKC with a request to verify the conformity of Berikashvili’s lifestyle with his official income, as well as with a proposal to analyze his career before the start of his service in the State Security Service and possible connections with persons not mentioned in the declaration, in particular with Lydia Oleksandrenko.
