Deputy Head of the Trade and Commerce Center to Appear in Court in Lviv for Failing to Declare Property Worth UAH 8 Million

An investigation has been completed in Lviv into the deputy head of the regional territorial center for recruitment and social support, who failed to declare property worth 8 million hryvnias. This is reported by the State Bureau of Investigation.

“The State Bureau of Investigation has completed a pre-trial investigation into the deputy head of the Lviv Regional CCC and SP, who was performing the duties of the head at the time of the exposure. The indictment has been sent to the court,” – the State Bureau of Investigation informs.

As the investigation established, during 2023–2024, the official did not indicate in the declaration a land plot with an area of 0.025 hectares and a residential building with an area of 139 sq. m in the Lviv district. This property was registered to the mother-in-law, although, according to the investigation, it was purchased with his money.

Also, the declaration did not indicate the Mercedes and Nissan cars registered to the official’s father and sister, but in fact they were used by him and his wife. The total value of the property that was not declared is almost 8 million UAH.

At the initiative of the State Bureau of Investigation, the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption conducted a full check of the official’s lifestyle. During it, it was found that his official income did not correspond to the value of the acquired property.

The official will be tried for declaring false information. He could face up to two years of restriction of liberty with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions. The case is being handled by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Defense of the Western Region.
