Dmytro Verbytskyi was dismissed from the post of Deputy Prosecutor General

On Monday, July 1, Deputy Prosecutor General Dmytro Verbytskyi was dismissed from his post after a scandal related to the seizure of property worth more than 50 million hryvnias.

About this informs press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

Dmytro Verbytskyi, who was appointed to the position in September 2022, was released at his own request by the decision of the Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin. He was responsible for combating economic crimes, tax evasion and investment protection.

In May of this year, information appeared in the mass media that Verbytskyi and his partner Khrystyna Ilnytska purchased property in Kyiv for an amount significantly exceeding their incomes. According to an investigation by journalists, this caused a scandal and led to further investigations.

Currently, Dmytro Verbytskyi does not comment on his dismissal and future plans.
