Donald Trump announced the end of the war in Gaza

On October 13, US President Donald Trump announced the end of the war in Gaza and emphasized that Hamas would abide by the agreements. This is reports The Times of Israel.

On Monday, October 13, Donald Trump’s plane landed at Ben Gurion Airport in Israel. His visit coincided with the release of the first seven Israeli hostages as part of a plan to settle the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

The President of the USA was met at the airport by the President of Israel Yitzhak Herzog, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and their wives, the special envoy of the USA Steve Witkoff, the advisor to the President Jared Kushner and his wife, as well as the daughter of the head of the White House Ivanka Trump.

Speaking to journalists, the US president answered the question whether the war in Gaza is over:

“Yes. It’s a big day. It’s a brand new beginning, and I don’t think it’s ever been like this before”.

When asked what would happen to Hamas in the event of a ceasefire violation, he replied:

“They will comply”.

At the same time, it became known that Hamas released the last 13 living Israeli hostages. Thus, all living Israelis held by the group are now free. They are being held at a military base near Reims, where they are receiving medical and psychological care and are arranging meetings with their families. In addition, the bodies of the dead hostages are expected to be handed over in the afternoon. Their exact number is currently unknown, but Israel previously confirmed the death of at least 26 people.
