During June, 50 additional Resilience Centers were opened in Ukraine
In June, the Ministry of Social Policy together with communities and public organizations additionally opened another 50 Sustainability Centers in different regions of Ukraine.
“279 communities have already opened Life Sustainability Centers — spaces where people can receive professional psychosocial support. We see how they change the lives of Ukrainians: they help families cope with losses, support veterans, return support to those who have lost it. This is extremely important in the conditions of constant stress that we are all experiencing because of the war.” – said Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Oksana Zholnovych.
Among those who turn to the Centers are Ukrainians left homeless due to hostilities, families who have lost loved ones, military personnel after returning from the front, as well as anyone who feels anxious or emotionally exhausted. The centers are open to everyone – children, youth, parents, pensioners, internally displaced persons, military personnel and people with disabilities.
Psychologists, social managers and social work specialists work in these spaces. They conduct both group classes and individual consultations, during which problems of anxiety, fatigue, difficulties with adaptation or communication with children are discussed. Also, the Centers have parent support programs, self-regulation trainings, and mutual help groups. If necessary, specialists can advise where to turn for legal, medical or other support.
Information about the nearest Sustainability Center can be found at site Ministry of Social Policy. All services are free, voluntary and anonymous. It is enough to simply visit the Center, make an appointment for a consultation or join the events.
Centers of vitality are being created within the framework of the experimental project of the Ministry of Social Policy as part of the national mental health program “How are you?”, initiated by Olena Zelenska. They are opened in communities in partnership with the public sector, and the premises are arranged in accordance with the principles of barrier-free accessibility in accordance with the Guide developed by the Ministry of Social Policy together with partners.
