Ukraine is preparing to join the International Fund for Agricultural Development

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a decision on Ukraine’s accession to the Agreement on the Establishment of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), which opens new horizons for the Ukrainian agricultural sector. About this reported in the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, this decision will allow Ukrainian farmers to gain access to new financial resources, such as low-cost loans or grants. This especially applies to programs aimed at research and implementation of innovations in the field of agriculture. Within the framework of cooperation with IFAD, Ukrainian farmers will have the opportunity to receive loans at low interest rates, which will be a significant support in the conditions of growing competition on international markets.

Joining IFAD will provide Ukrainian farmers with access to the latest intellectual and technical developments that are actively used in the global agricultural sector. This includes the use of the Fund’s database, which collects the most modern innovations and technological solutions in the agro-industrial complex (APC). In addition, farmers will be able to apply this knowledge to increase the efficiency of their production and introduce new technologies in their own farms.

Ukrainian companies will also have new opportunities to participate in tenders for the purchase of goods and services organized by the Fund. This will open the way to additional orders and partnerships at the international level, increasing the competitiveness of Ukrainian agro-industrial enterprises.

Joining IFAD will not only improve the financial capabilities of farmers, but also strengthen the image of Ukraine as one of the key players in the global agricultural market. Ukraine, which is one of the largest exporters of agricultural products, will get new chances for the development of exports and international cooperation.

In addition, cooperation with IFAD will allow Ukraine to participate more actively in global initiatives aimed at fighting hunger in the world, which is one of the Fund’s key missions. It will also create a basis for deepening the political dialogue with international partners and attracting additional support at global forums.

According to representatives of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, joining the International Fund for Agricultural Development will be an important step for accelerating reforms in the agricultural sector. Access to international investments and innovative programs will help farmers adapt to modern challenges and implement the latest technologies in their farms. This, in turn, will help increase the productivity and quality of agricultural products in Ukraine.
