During the last day, Russian troops carried out more than 26 strikes on the energy infrastructure of Ukraine. This reported the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk after the meeting with the ambassadors of the countries of the “ sevens”.
“Over 26 attacks on energy infrastructure have been recorded today alone. The Sumy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Odesa and Poltava regions are in fact under the enemy’s constant crosshairs, the minister stressed.
She emphasized that the primary task now is to strengthen air defense systems and equip energy facilities with means of electronic warfare. Also, according to Grynchuk, it is necessary to strengthen the physical protection of critical infrastructure in order to minimize the consequences of possible strikes.
The minister called on international partners to provide Ukraine with additional energy equipment to restore damaged facilities. Among the main tasks for the winter period, she named the accumulation of gas reserves, as Russia continues to fire at gas production and gas storage enterprises.
“We have a list of urgent needs, which we pass on to the “Group of Seven” for further processing with each G7 country more objectively. I am grateful to the partners for their willingness to work on quick solutions that Ukraine needs, Grynchuk noted.
