E-residency in Ukraine will be operational in a few days: Fedorov
The Ministry of Digital Transformation plans to launch the “E-Resident” project in a few days. This new format will allow foreigners to open accounts and conduct business in Ukraine remotely.
This was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister for Innovations, Development of Education, Science and Technologies — Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov at the “Conductors of Change” forum.
“We will launch e-residency in a few days. It will be something similar to the Estonian model, but with more favorable conditions. We plan to actively present this initiative in the IT arena and compete with other countries.”“, Fedorov said.
According to him, the new system does not just facilitate the provision of services, but creates a full-fledged ecosystem in which foreign entrepreneurs will be able to register companies online, open bank accounts and pay taxes in Ukraine.
What is e-residency?
“E-resident” is a special status for foreign citizens, which gives them access to information and consulting services, simplifies the receipt of administrative services and allows the conclusion of civil law agreements. This opens up the possibility of remote business creation in Ukraine without the need for physical presence.
The Ministry of Digital Transformation previously announced that the first countries whose citizens will be able to use the e-residency program will be Slovenia, India, Pakistan and Thailand. Citizens of Russia and countries included in the FATF “gray” or “black” list will not be able to obtain this status.
