PlayCity starts issuing new licenses

The Ukrainian State Agency for Gambling and Lottery Regulation PlayCity is starting the process of issuing new licenses and has already received the first applications. This was reported by the press service of the agency.

“The Cabinet of Ministers previously made changes to licensing conditions in the field of gambling, so we are starting to issue licenses”, the message says.

Currently, PlayCity has already received the first applications for licenses for online casinos, from B2B manufacturers of software and gaming equipment. The state agency predicts that an additional 50 million UAH may be added to the budget from the licensing of market participants.

“Our goal is to create a transparent, civilized gambling market with clear rules and equal requirements for all participants. It should work as a full-fledged sector of the economy, which steadily fills the budget. Income to the state budget from the industry will be directed to strengthening the country’s defense capabilities, PlayCity noted.

We would like to remind you that on September 16, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution that established new licensing conditions in the field of gambling, which enabled PlayCity to start issuing licenses to gambling business organizers.

The new rules provide for stricter requirements for companies, including an impeccable business reputation, the absence of ties to the aggressor state, and the introduction of responsible gaming mechanisms. They apply to both new applicants and existing licensees.
