The Cabinet of Ministers allowed state-owned enterprises to use funds from the charity account for demining

The Cabinet of Ministers granted state enterprises engaged in humanitarian demining the right to use charitable funds received in a special account of the Ministry of Economy in the National Bank of Ukraine to finance demining works. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and his representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk.
On September 3, the government approved relevant changes to the procedure for using funds from this account, which will allow state operators of humanitarian demining to attract resources to clear territories of mines and other explosive objects.
Prime Minister noted, that among the state-owned enterprises that will have the technical ability to join this process is Ukroboronprom. His participation in demining will significantly accelerate the clearing of Ukrainian lands from dangerous remnants of war.
Persons and organizations that need humanitarian demining of their territories will be able to apply to the relevant state-owned enterprises-operators. These enterprises, in turn, will submit lists with data on territories that require demining to the commission of the Ministry of Economy. Funding of activities will be carried out taking into account priority and other important factors.
In addition, the document expanded the list of measures for humanitarian demining, including the purchase of materials and equipment for the certification of mechanized demining equipment, as well as the determination of the need for technical remote systems for the detection and disposal of explosive objects.
We will remind that earlier, on August 23, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to increase the amount of compensation for agricultural producers who plan to demine their land to 100%. This was a response to the appeal of farmers, in particular the company “Nibulon”, who stated that they could not pay even 20% of the cost of demining on their own due to lack of funds.
