Elon Musk agreed to pay $128 million to former top managers of Twitter

The owner of the social network X (formerly Twitter) Elon Musk agreed to settle a lawsuit for $128 million, which was filed against him by four former top managers of the company, who were fired immediately after his arrival in 2022. TechCrunch reports this TechCrunch.

After acquiring Twitter, Musk fired CEO Parag Agrawal, CFO Ned Segal, and lawyers Sean Edgett and Vijaya Gadde. They stated that they did not receive all the compensation they were entitled to after being fired. According to them, this was related to their attempts to force Musk to fulfill his obligations on a deal worth $44 billion, which he initially wanted to renege on.

In the lawsuit, former executives cited excerpts from an interview with Walter Isaacson, where Musk said he would “hunt everyone” from the top of Twitter “until the day they die” to demonstrate his bias.

They are not the only ones left without proper payments. Musk also faced a wave of lawsuits from other former employees of the company, who are still waiting for compensation. After the change in ownership, Twitter stopped paying rent for some offices, which led to new lawsuits and even evictions. Although the parties reached an agreement in the settlement process, the details of the arrangements are currently unknown.

Recall that Elon Musk acquired Twitter on October 27, 2022 and later renamed it to X. Already a month later, he announced his intention to leave the post of CEO, having conducted a survey among users, the majority of participants of which spoke against his resignation.
