On the night of November 8, emergency power outages were introduced in several regions as a result of a large-scale attack by Russian troops on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy.

Energy Minister Svitlana Grinchuk noted that immediately after the security situation stabilizes, rescuers and energy workers will begin eliminating the consequences of the shelling in order to restore power supply to the affected regions as soon as possible.

“I thank everyone who is doing everything to ensure that Ukrainians have light and heat – energy workers, employees of the State Emergency Service, local services. I urge everyone to remain calm and follow official information. Despite the enemy’s plans, Ukraine will have light and warmth this winter, the minister stressed.

In the Kharkiv region, eight people were injured in an airstrike. In the evening, the occupiers struck the Pisochyn community with a guided bomb. In the village of Korotich, a gas station building was destroyed and several cars were damaged. All the wounded were hospitalized. Rescuers extinguished the fire, cleared the rubble, and units of the State Emergency Service, pyrotechnicians, and local fire protection worked at the scene.

In the Dnipro one person was killed and ten others were injured, including two children, as a result of a massive Russian attack. An enemy strike drone hit a nine-story residential building at night, causing the destruction of apartments from the fourth to the sixth floors. A fire broke out, which rescuers quickly extinguished. During the rescue operations, 28 people were evacuated, including five children. A woman’s body was found in an apartment on the fifth floor. Ten people sought medical attention, six of whom, including one child, were hospitalized. The data is being verified.

In the Odessa region, Russian troops attacked the region with strike drones. As a result of the hits, a fire broke out at an energy infrastructure facility. The liquidation work was complicated by repeated air alarms. According to preliminary information, there were no deaths or injuries.

On the morning of November 8, Russian drones attacked Kyiv. Rescuers responded to two calls in the Pechersk district: at one location, four light trucks were on fire, two buildings and a nearby car were damaged; at another address, the fire from the drone’s wreckage was extinguished before the unit arrived. Both fires were extinguished, and there was no information about the injuries.

On the night of November 8, Russian troops launched a missile attack on the Poltava region, as a result of which the city of Horishni Plavni was left without electricity. The attack severely damaged the energy infrastructure that powered the city.

Local authorities called on citizens to remain calm, help those most in need, conserve mobile device power, use resources wisely, and monitor official updates. No immediate restoration of power is currently expected. Specialists are working to identify technical problems and determine the possibilities for repair work.
