Emmanuel Macron reappointed Sebastien Lecorne as Prime Minister of France

French President Emmanuel Macron has re-appointed Sébastien Lecorne as Prime Minister. This was reported by the office of the Elysee Palace in evening communique, BFMTV reports.

“The President of the Republic appointed Mr. Sebastien Lecorne as Prime Minister and instructed him to form the government”, the statement said.

Other details are currently not disclosed. The decision was made after many days of consultations.

Let us remind you that on October 6, Lecorne submitted a resignation letter to Macron after criticism from the opposition, and the president accepted it. He held the post for less than a month, as he was appointed on September 9 — the same day his predecessor, François Bayrou, resigned. On the same day, French Defense Minister Bruno Le Maire, who had only been in office for one day, also resigned. Before him, the department was headed by Lekornia.

In France, the prime minister is appointed by the president without the participation of the parliament. At the same time, the parliament has the right to vote a vote of no confidence in the government at any time, and then the prime minister together with the cabinet must resign.
