“Energoatom” has added four independent members to its new supervisory board
On December 31, the nomination committee approved four independent members of the new supervisory board of NNEGC “Energoatom”. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko, noting that the government continues the process of updating strategic energy enterprises.
According to her, the selection of independent members was carried out unanimously. The nomination committee includes government representatives and independent observers from the European Union, EBRD, IFC and the Business Ombudsman.
The members of the new Supervisory Board of “Energoatom” are:

Rumina Velshi is an international expert in nuclear safety and regulatory oversight with over 40 years of experience. She has led the Canadian Nuclear Regulator, the IAEA Safety Standards Commission, and the Association of International Nuclear Regulators.

Laura Garbenchute-Bakiene is a finance, audit, and risk management professional in the energy and infrastructure sectors with over 25 years of experience. She has held senior positions at PwC in the US, Ukraine and Lithuania, and has been involved in audit and risk management at strategic sites, including the Ignalina NPP.

Patrick Fragman is an engineer and international manager in the nuclear and energy industries with over 30 years of experience. He was President and CEO of Westinghouse Electric Company.

Brice Bouillon is a lawyer in the field of energy regulation and corporate governance. He held senior positions at EDF International and EDF Energy, was responsible for legal, compliance and regulatory functions, worked in the French Council of State and the Energy Regulatory Commission.
Yulia Svyrydenko also reported that the selection of three state representatives for the supervisory board will be completed in the first half of January. At the same time, state audits of “Energoatom” and defense enterprises are ongoing.
