Energy infrastructure in four regions of Ukraine suffered significant damage due to Russian strikes

On the morning of March 6, some consumers in Kharkiv, Donetsk, Chernihiv, and Kherson regions were left without electricity. The damage was caused by Russian attacks, after which energy workers began emergency restoration work where the security situation allows. This was reported by Ukrenergo.

«There are consumers without electricity in the Kharkiv, Donetsk, Chernihiv, and Kherson regions this morning. Wherever security conditions allow, emergency and restoration work has already begun.

Due to the consequences of previous strikes on the energy infrastructure, capacity restrictions are in place for industrial enterprises in certain regions, and hourly power outage schedules are applied for the population.

Compared to Thursday, electricity consumption increased by 3.6%.

“The reason for the changes is a decrease in the efficiency of household solar power plants due to cloudy weather in a significant territory of Ukraine. This leads to an increase in the level of energy consumption from the general network.

Energy experts urge citizens to limit the use of powerful electrical appliances during peak hours and to postpone energy-intensive processes to the night period – after 22:00, if possible.

At the same time, the situation in the power system has stabilized somewhat. In recent days, the electricity deficit has decreased to approximately 1 GW, which has made it possible to partially mitigate the outage schedules in various regions of the country.
