Erdogan confirmed to Zelensky Turkey’s readiness to organize the next stage of peace talks
Turkish President Recep Erdogan confirmed to Volodymyr Zelensky that Ankara is ready to organize the next stage of negotiations on ending the war between Russia and Ukraine. This was reported by the Office of the President after the meeting of the two leaders, writes “European Pravda”.
Erdogan stressed to Zelensky that Turkey is ready to play an important role in achieving a reliable peace for Ukraine, and also supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Ukrainian state. As noted in the report, the Turkish president also confirmed his country’s readiness to become a platform for the next round of negotiations with the participation of delegations from Ukraine, the United States, and Russia.
In addition, News.LIVE published a video in which Zelensky, in a brief comment to the media after a meeting with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, said that Erdogan proposes to hold negotiations in Istanbul.
In March, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, during a telephone conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, stated that Ankara is ready to host a new round of negotiations between the Russian Federation and Ukraine.
The day before, it was reported that the President of Ukraine invited the American negotiating delegation to Kyiv. Kyrylo Budanov also expects that representatives of the American delegation may arrive in Kyiv after Easter.
