“For our unit, 90% of drones continue to be volunteer”, “the lack of drones is the main reason for the retreat of the Armed Forces”: Yehor Firsov

The situation at the front is becoming increasingly alarming, and this is not only due to the enemy’s offensive, but also due to the chronic lack of important equipment – drones. The Armed Forces of Ukraine found themselves in a critical situation, where volunteers actually bear the lion’s share of providing drones. This is not just an alarm signal, but a real threat.
Military serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yehor Firsov considers, if the lack of drones is not solved immediately, the enemy will not stop at Pokrovsk and Myrnograd, but will continue to move further – to Pavlograd and even to the Dnipro itself. This problem is not new, and its consequences are becoming more and more obvious. What once seemed like a distant threat is now approaching the very heart of the country.
“Surprisingly, until now 90% of the drones delivered to the Armed Forces are provided by volunteers. If the problem of the shortage of UAVs is not solved, the enemy can reach not only Pokrovsk and Mirnograd, but also Pavlograd and the Dnipro.
Our unit predicted such a development six months ago, and we prepared for it both morally and technologically. There are many reasons for this, but the main thing is to prevent the enemy from breaking through Pokrovsk and Mirnograd. This is the last agglomeration in the west of the Donetsk region, then only fields and the Dnipropetrovsk region together with Pavlograd, and then the Dnipro itself.
Someone may say that the Dnipro is still far away, and he would be right. But even Pokrovsk was once far from LBZ – 50 kilometers, and even a year ago this city was considered a deep rear, and now you can clearly hear artillery battles from here.
Drones are needed for the defense of the Pokrovsk-Toretsk axis — the more, the better. About 80% of equipment damage is due to UAVs. Unfortunately, the situation with the supply of drones remains unstable and unclear.
In our unit, 90% of drones continue to be volunteer. Maybe someone at the top thinks we’re a troop, but we’ve been on the front line for a year and a half, and our platoon has better results than many battalions. The situation is similar in other land units. UAV units now have a high morale and readiness to meet the enemy from all sides, but for this, drones are needed – in sufficient quantity, day and night, and preferably of high quality.
Kursk is Kursk, we wish all the participants of the operation good luck and strength. But do not forget about the main direction, otherwise you will soon have to hold the defense near the Dnieper”, – believes the military.
