For the first time since 2022, Ukraine has an advantage in tanks in certain areas of the front: Forbes

For the first time since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion in 2022, Ukrainian forces have achieved a tank advantage, although this applies only to certain areas of the front. About this informs Forbes.

A key factor in this change was the active use of drones, which the Ukrainian army effectively uses to destroy Russian tanks at a great distance from the contact line. This forces Russian tanks to operate from cover, limiting their effectiveness, while Ukrainian tanks are able to operate closer to the front and engage in direct combat.

However, the situation at the front remains ambiguous. For example, in the Kursk region of Russia, the troops use modern fiber-optic drones, which cannot be blocked by traditional methods of radio-electronic warfare. This creates significant difficulties for Ukrainian offensive actions.

Thus, Ukraine’s tactical advantage in certain areas became possible thanks to the innovative use of drones. However, the situation remains difficult due to limited resources, especially infantry.
