Lviv region will receive 4.8 million euros for the repair of the road to the border
The Lviv region received 4.8 million euros to repair a section of the road that provides connections to international checkpoints on the border with the EU, reported the head of the Lviv Regional Administrative Organization, Maksym Kozytsky. The funds are received within the framework of the grant contract of the Interreg NEXT program “Poland-Ukraine 2021–2027”.
“This is the largest infrastructure project of the program: over 20.4 million euros – the total budget for all partners, of which 4.8 million euros will be directed specifically to our region”, – noted Kozytskyi.
According to him, the funds will go to the current average repair of over 18 km of the Nahirne – Dobromyl road, which will facilitate access to the checkpoints “Shehyni-Medika”, “Nyzhankovychi-Malkhovice” and “Smilnytsia–Kroscienko”.
The project aims to speed up travel to the border and improve logistics in border communities. Lviv OVA is carrying out repairs in partnership with the Subcarpathian Regional Roads Department in Rzeszów, the Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service of the Zakarpattia Oblast, and the State Enterprise “Roads of the Subcarpathians”.
Kozytsky also emphasized that the project involves the exchange of experience between Ukrainian and Polish road services, in particular regarding winter road maintenance and the implementation of modern infrastructure monitoring systems.
