The United States has banned imports from another 37 Chinese companies

The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has added 37 more Chinese companies to its list of manufacturers whose imports into the US are prohibited under the Uighur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA). About this informs DHS.

This list, created in 2022, now includes 144 companies. The new sanctions target textile, solar panel and mining companies including Zijin Mining Group, Donghai JA Solar Technology, Hongyuan Green Energy and Huafu Fashion, along with 25 subsidiaries.

“By adding 37 companies to the UFLPA Entity List and bringing the total to nearly 150, we are once again demonstrating our relentless fight against the brutality of forced labor, our unwavering commitment to basic human rights, and our tireless defense of a free, fair and competitive marketplace.”, – noted US Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas.

The Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Law, which took effect in June 2022, aims to combat forced labor and human rights violations in China, particularly in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. Since the introduction of this law, the US Customs Service has blocked goods worth about $3.67 billion.
