Ford is recalling nearly 1.5 million cars due to a problem with rear-view cameras
Ford is recalling about 1.5 million vehicles in the U.S. due to faulty rearview cameras that can show an upside-down, distorted or missing image. This reports Reuters agency.
The recall covers certain models produced between 2015 and 2019. Owners will be able to undergo a free inspection and replacement of cameras at official Ford dealers, the agency notes. In addition, the Canadian company Magna International is recalling more than 250,000 rear-view cameras installed in some Ford and Stellantis models, according to a separate message.
Recall that at the end of August, Ford announced the recall of almost 500,000 cars in the USA due to brake fluid leakage. As noted, a broken hose in the brake system could have caused a leak, increasing braking distances and the risk of accidents. Ford said at the time that it had not received any reports of accidents or injuries related to the problem.
That recall affected 2015-2018 Ford Edge SUVs and 2016-2018 Lincoln MKX luxury models. According to NHTSA estimates, about 1% of recalled cars had the defect. Separately, Ford has also recalled more than 213,000 vehicles due to faulty taillights and 100,900 vehicles due to the risk of airbag deployment.
