Former head of “Ukrenergo” Kudrytskyi refused to cooperate with NABU and SAP: VAKS judge

The former head of the state-owned enterprise “Ukrenergo” Volodymyr Kudrytskyi ignored the request of the prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) to assist in the investigation of fraud related to the purchase of body armor by one of his subordinates in the first months of the war. This is stated in a separate opinion of the High Anti-Corruption Court (VACS) dated August 13, 2024.
According to the materials of the court proceedings, on June 26, 2024, the SAP prosecutor turned to Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, the then Chairman of the Board of PrJSC NEC Ukrenergo, with a proposal to submit an application to recognize the company as an injured party in the case by June 27 or to provide written consent to this. However, at the time of the appellate review on August 13, “Ukrenergo” was not recognized as an injured party, and the company did not file any civil lawsuit within the framework of this criminal proceeding.
In this investigation, Kudrytskyi acts as a witness, and the chief suspect is the head of the Ukrenergo Security Department, who was detained in June 2024 by NABU and SBU employees.
The investigation claims that in March 2022, Ukrenergo purchased 1,225 bulletproof vests at a price that was more than double the average market price. This caused losses to the state in the amount of 10.3 million hryvnias.
The suspected top manager of “Ukrenergo” was taken into custody, and later the Higher Anti-Corruption Court ordered NABU to consider the possible involvement of Kudrytsky himself in this case.
