Former lawyer Medvedchuk and Shariy sentenced in absentia to 10 years in prison

According to the evidence base of the Security Service of Ukraine, Valentin Rybin, who was the lawyer of Viktor Medvedchuk and Anatoly Shary, received 10 years of imprisonment in absentia. Currently, he is a member of the leadership of the occupation administration of the Russian Federation on the left bank of the Kherson region. About this informs SBU press office.

Currently, Rybin heads the so-called “organizational and legal department of the Ministry of Information Policy of the Kherson region of the Russian Federation”, which coordinates the subversive activities of the Kremlin’s local propaganda structures. Before the start of the full-scale war, Rybin worked as a lawyer for Viktor Medvedchuk and Anatoly Shariy, who was recently sentenced in absentia to 15 years in prison for treason.

Later, he went abroad, from where, through his Facebook page, he called on the Ukrainian military to lay down their arms before the occupiers. After a short stay outside Ukraine, Rybin arrived in the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region. There, he received an offer from the local Gauleiter Saldo to lead the occupation body, which carries out information sabotage against Ukraine.

After his “appointment”, Rybin joined Putin’s United Russia party and repeatedly called on local residents to support the occupiers. On the basis of the evidence gathered by SBU investigators, Rybin was found guilty of 5th century 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (collaborative activity). In addition to deprivation of liberty in absentia, the court decided to confiscate the convict’s property.

Since the collaborator is hiding in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine, comprehensive measures are being taken to bring him to justice. The investigation was carried out by SBU employees in the Kherson region under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor’s office.
