The Ministry of Health has updated the program “Available medicines”
The Ministry of Health of Ukraine has approved the updated list of medicines and medical products that are subject to reimbursement, i.e. available in pharmacies free of charge or with partial payment by electronic prescription within the Medical Program guarantees Update of the “Affordable Medicines” defined as one of the steps in the Government Action Program.
Order “ On approval of the Lists of medicines and medical products that are subject to reimbursement under the program of state guarantees of medical care for the population, as of August 28, 2025” enters into force on September 30.
To the program “Available medicines” added 85 new drugs. These are three drugs for pregnant women and women giving birth, six for the treatment of thyroid diseases, eight for patients with glaucoma, five for the treatment of children’s diseases and 61 drugs for the therapy of cardiovascular, respiratory, metabolic, mental and neurological disorders. The new list includes such international non-patented names as indapamide, latanoprost, levothyroxine, methyldopa, timolol, torasemide, folic acid.
In total, the reimbursement program now has 705 titles. It includes 595 medicines, 38 insulin preparations, 30 combined preparations and 42 types of test strips for measuring glucose levels.
Updated program “Affordable medicines” covers a wide range of areas: cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, diabetes and insipidus, including insulin, chronic diseases of the lower respiratory tract, mental and behavioral disorders, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, drugs for patients in the post-transplant period, drugs for the treatment of pain and palliative care, diseases of the endocrine system, metabolic, autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, glaucoma, migraine, children’s diseases, treatment pregnant women and women in labor, as well as medical products for controlling blood sugar levels in patients with type I diabetes.
