Germany announced additional military aid to Ukraine worth over €2 billion
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said at a meeting in the “Ramstein” format that Berlin will allocate an additional 2 billion euros to Ukraine. This is reported by DW.
It is also planned to transfer two additional IRIS-T air defense systems with a large number of missiles, portable anti-aircraft systems, anti-tank weapons, modern communications equipment and light weapons.
“At the same time, we will continue to expand cooperation between the defense industries of Germany and Ukraine”, — the minister emphasized.
Pistorius noted that Germany will launch a project to modernize the already transferred weapons in order to extend their service life and adapt them to war conditions.
As a reminder, on March 18, 2025, the Bundestag approved Friedrich Merz’s proposal to allocate up to 1 trillion euros to the German army and infrastructure, which allowed the release of 3 billion euros in military aid to Ukraine.
