Germany sends six more radars to Ukraine to strengthen air defense
The German company HENSOLDT, which specializes in the production of sensors, announced the supply of six more high-tech TRML-4D radars to Ukraine. These radars will help strengthen the country’s air defense in the midst of a war with Russia.
The delivery of TRML-4D radars is planned for 2024, the exact date has not been announced.
“Our radars are urgently needed by the Ukrainian air defense, and we are proud to be able to deliver all systems this year“, – said the CEO of HENSOLDT, Oliver Dorre. “Feedback from our customers confirms how important the rapid availability of radars is for the protection of their citizens“.
HENSOLDT has contracts to supply more than 50 TRML-4D radars to various customers. The radars for Ukraine will be manufactured as part of a €100 million package order, which is expected to be paid for by the German government.
The TRML-4D is a mobile 3D detection radar designed to detect and track airborne threats such as aircraft, helicopters and drones. It can work in any weather conditions and has a range of up to 250 kilometers.
The supply of these radars is a significant help to Ukraine in its efforts to counter Russian aggression. TRML-4D will help the Ukrainian military to better protect the country’s airspace and destroy enemy aircraft.
This is not the first German assistance to Ukraine in the field of air defense. Earlier, Germany had already transferred several complexes of IRIS-T SLM anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine.
