Great Britain and Poland sign agreement to counter threats from Russia

The UK and Poland have signed a defence and security agreement to jointly counter threats from Russia. As Bloomberg reports, this was announced by the prime ministers of both countries, Bloomberg reports.

According to media reports, the leaders discussed the increase in Russian hybrid attacks, including arson, cyberattacks and espionage, which are being recorded in the UK and Europe.

“This agreement is the biggest step forward in our defense and security relationship with Poland in a generation. Our collective work together will ensure the security of our countries for many years to come,” said Keir Starmer.

According to the agreement, the UK and Poland plan to establish a joint production of medium-range air defense missiles, as well as conduct large-scale military exercises. According to Bloomberg, the countries “will accelerate cooperation to prevent malicious attempts by “hostile state actors” to sow discord.”

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that the countries would also cooperate in the development of modern drone technologies. He also said that “history teaches us that Poland must build reliable alliances that will primarily deter potential aggressors.”
