Trump arrives in Saudi Arabia
US President Donald Trump arrived in Saudi Arabia as part of his visit to the Persian Gulf countries. This is his first official trip after re-election to the post of head of state. About this informs CNN.
A purple royal carpet was rolled out at Riyadh’s Royal Terminal for an official welcome. Trump was met by Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman. Before leaving for the hotel, the leaders will hold a traditional coffee ceremony at the airport.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick and Secretary of Energy Chris Wright arrived as part of the American delegation. Along the route from the airport to the city center, the streets are decorated with the flags of the United States and Saudi Arabia, and during the landing, the presidential plane Air Force One was escorted by F-15 fighter jets. This is stated in the message of the deputy head of the Trump administration, Dan Scavino, and in the reports of journalists accompanying the president.
During the day, Trump will also attend an arrival ceremony, meet with the Crown Prince, introduce a delegation, attend a lunch with CEOs, hold bilateral talks and participate in the signing of bilateral agreements at the Royal Palace.
The president is expected to deliver a speech at the US-Saudi Investment Forum and visit the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Diriyah and Al-Turaif before dining with Prince Muhammad bin Salman. Before that, Trump left the US borders only once after the inauguration – to attend the funeral of the Pope in the Vatican.
