IKEA plans to resume work in Ukraine this year
The IKEA company is preparing to resume the operation of its stores in Ukraine in 2025. About this reported Dmytro Lashin, director of operations of Lavina Mall and Blockbuster Mall.
“There is very encouraging information that it will definitely happen this year, but there are two scenarios. The first is that hostilities will stop in Ukraine, which will happen very, very quickly. If the fighting doesn’t stop, it will take a little longer to open. Physically, they are already ready.” – noted Lashin.
According to him, the company’s representatives carry out daily activities for the physical renewal of the store (cleaning, partial repairs, replacement of signs, removal of old goods, etc.). IKEA also already has an order for Ukrainian manufacturers for the purchase of a fairly wide range of furniture.
IKEA is a Dutch manufacturing and retail group, founded in Sweden, and one of the world’s largest chains for the sale of furniture and household goods. It is part of the Ingka Group. According to the results of the 2024 fiscal year, which ended on August 31, IKEA (Inter IKEA Group) recorded a decrease in retail sales by 5.3%, to 45.1 billion euros.
