In Germany, the names of the first ministers of the new government were announced

In Germany, the Christian Democratic Union party announced the names of its candidates for the positions of ministers in the new government, which will be headed by the leader of the party, Friedrich Merz. About this informs daily news.

The minister of foreign affairs in Mertz’s cabinet will be conservative politician Johann Wadeful. 62-year-old Vadeful is the deputy head of the CDU faction in the Bundestag and is responsible for foreign policy and defense issues. Previously, he spoke in favor of allowing Ukraine to use German weapons against targets on the territory of Russia, and also called for a review of Germany’s former policy towards Russia.

The Ministry of Economy will be headed by Katerina Reiche, and CDU member of the Bundestag Patrick Schneider will become the new Minister of Transport. The new Ministry for Digitalization and Modernization of the State will be headed by Carsten Wildberger, Chairman of the Board of Ceconomy AG and MediaMarktSaturn-Gruppe.

Baden-Württemberg politician Nina Warken will be appointed health minister, while Schleswig-Holstein education minister Karin Prien will head the federal ministry of education and the family. It is noted that the CDU will receive 7 out of 17 ministerial portfolios in the new government.

At the same time, CSU leader Markus Söder plans to announce the names of three ministers from his political force. Candidates for ministerial positions from the Social Democratic Party will be presented in the afternoon during a small party congress in Berlin, after the approval of the coalition agreement.

We will remind that on February 23, early federal elections were held in Germany, according to the results of which the right-wing conservative parties CDU/CSU won the most votes.
