In Kryvyi Rih, a local resident died as a result of shots fired in his direction. This was reported by the police of the Dnipropetrovsk region, without specifying the name of the deceased. According to information Suspilny, the victim was the president of the local sambo federation Yevgeny Ponyrko.
“According to preliminary information, an unknown person fired shots in the direction of a local resident. The man died on the spot from his injuries. Another person was injured. The police received a report on September 26 around 8 p.m.
At the scene of the incident, an investigative and operational group, experts, the leadership of the State Security Service in Dnipropetrovsk region and Kryvyi Rih RUP and other specialized services are working. At present, primary investigative actions are being conducted to identify the person involved in the crime, the police informed.
The Dnipropetrovsk prosecutor’s office added that another man was shot and hospitalized. Investigators opened criminal proceedings under Part 2, Clause 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. A special police operation is being conducted in the region to search for and detain the culprit.
According to eyewitnesses, the deceased lived in this neighborhood for about two years and had a bodyguard.
