On the morning of January 12, an extraordinary event occurred at a school in the Obolonsky district of Kyiv: a student attacked a teacher and a classmate with a knife. The attacker was detained by the police, and the victims are receiving medical assistance.
As reported by the National Police spokeswoman Yulia Girdvilis, the incident occurred at around 8:45 a.m.
“The police are investigating the circumstances of the attack at the capital’s school. The report was received by 102 today, January 12, at 8:45 a.m. According to preliminary information, one of the students came to school with a knife and attacked the teacher and a classmate, she said.
Girdvilis added that at the time of the incident, there was no permanent educational security officer at the school.
“The attacker has been detained, the police are working at the scene,”, the department said.
