In Kyiv, over 1,500 apartment buildings remain without heating after shelling
As of January 25, 1,676 multi-storey residential buildings in the capital of Ukraine remain without heat supply. These are the consequences of the attack on Kyiv, which Russian troops carried out on the night of January 24. This was reported by the mayor of the city, Vitaliy Klitschko.
According to him, due to damage to critical infrastructure, a significant part of the city’s housing stock has again lost access to heat.
“Let me remind you that due to damage to critical infrastructure, yesterday (January 24 – ed.) almost 6,000 houses in the capital were again without heat supply. Most of them have already been connected or tried to be connected to the heat supply twice after the shelling on January 9 and 20, Klitschko noted.
The mayor also recalled that previous massive attacks on the capital’s energy infrastructure had already led to large-scale disruptions in heat supply. In particular, on January 9, almost six thousand apartment buildings in Kyiv were left without heating due to serious damage.
In general, as a result of another massive attack by the Russian Federation on energy facilities on January 24, consumers were deprived of electricity not only in Kyiv and the Kyiv region, but also in the Chernihiv and Kharkiv regions.
