In Kyiv, veterans will be able to receive up to UAH 500,000 in compensation for refurbishing their apartments
Kyiv has adopted a procedure for providing partial compensation for housing renovations for veterans with disabilities of groups I and II. The decision is valid within the framework of the city program “Support for Kyiv residents – defenders”. This was reported by the Kyiv City State Administration.
Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration Marina Honda explained that after injuries, homes often turn out to be unsuitable for the daily needs of people with disabilities, so the city is ready to bear part of the costs of adapting apartments.
The amount of compensation can be up to 500 thousand hryvnias and will cover work related to the arrangement of barrier-free space: in particular, widening doorways, replacing doors, removing thresholds, re-equipping sanitary rooms and kitchens, installing handrails, and moving switches and sockets to a convenient height.
To receive funds, you need to submit a package of documents to the Center comprehensive support for combatants “Kyiv Military Hub”.
The Kyiv City State Administration also reminds that servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other components of the Defense Forces can apply for monetary compensation for renting housing at the place of service if they do not have their own real estate there.
