The Ministry of Economy has completed preparations for bilateral meetings with the European Commission regarding Ukraine’s accession to the EU

Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine completed preparations for bilateral meetings with the European by the commission within the negotiation process regarding Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.

Under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister Denys Bashlyk, the final regional hearings on Chapters 11, 12 and 13, which relate to the agrarian sphere, took place in Poltava. The event was held as part of Ukraine’s preparations for negotiations on joining the EU.

More than 100 representatives of agricultural and processing enterprises from Poltava, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Sumy, Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk and Luhansk regions took part in the hearing. The key topics were the development of rural areas, compliance with animal welfare standards, the development of dairy processing, as well as the involvement of Ukraine in the Common Fisheries Policy of the EU.

“European integration opens up new opportunities for Ukrainian small and medium-sized enterprises to access European markets. We strive to provide farmers with everything they need – knowledge, tools and state support – so that they can effectively integrate into the EU market and fully realize the potential of their products”, – emphasized the Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine Denys Bashlyk.

Bilateral meetings of Ukraine and the European Commission under chapters 11 “Agriculture and development of rural areas” (09.08–10.2025), 12 “Food safety, veterinary and phytosanitary policy” (09.15–19.2025) and 13 “Fishing and water fishing” (09.25–26.2025) will be held in Brussels (Belgium) as part of the official screening of the conformity of Ukrainian legislation with EU law. During these meetings, Ukrainian experts will present the state of implementation of EU legal acts into national legislation.
