In Odesa, officials of the city council and the director of the enterprise were informed of the suspicion of illegal waste of budget funds
The Prosecutor’s Office of Odesa, together with the police, is carrying out comprehensive measures to bring to justice officials of local councils and heads of communal enterprises suspected of systematic waste of budget funds. As part of the investigation of a number of criminal proceedings, prosecutors informed about suspicion to eight officials of the Odesa City Council and the director of one of the enterprises.
Among the suspects is the former head of the Department of Capital Construction of the Odesa City Council, who is suspected of misappropriating funds during the execution of contracts for the development of project documentation. The technical supervision engineer of the City Council’s Design and Development Bureau received suspicion due to improper control during the overhaul of the maternity hospital.
The head of the CU “Center for Financing and Economic Activities of Institutions and Institutions of the Education System of the Kyiv District” was also informed of the suspicion of official negligence, as a result of which the private firm was over-transferred budget funds. The chief accountant of the KNP “Center of primary medical and sanitary care No. 4” was also involved in the illegal actions, who allowed the illegal inclusion of VAT in the cost of purchasing medical equipment.
Separate charges have been handed to the head, deputy and engineer of the KP “Odesa Electrotechnical Operation and Installation Enterprise” – they are suspected of using electric generators received as humanitarian aid from foreign partners and state bodies, for the wrong purpose: instead of providing critical infrastructure facilities, the generators were used near restaurants, car washes and private houses.
Officials are charged with embezzlement of budget funds, official forgery and official negligence (parts 4, 5 of article 191, part 1 of article 366, part 1 of article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The total amount of damages exceeds 7 million hryvnias.
