In the first half of 2024, the DPS issued tax fines to 12 banks in the amount of UAH 80.4 million

According to the results of the first half of 2024, the State Tax Service carried out 12 documentary checks of Ukrainian banks and imposed fines in the total amount of UAH 80.4 million. About this reported the director of the tax audit department of the DPS, Kristina Adamchuk, in response to the official request of the “Ministry of Finance”.

She did not disclose exactly how much tax was added to the banks and how much the losses declared by them were reduced. The names of the financial institutions that committed the violations are also not specified.

According to the information provided, the average tax fine for banks amounted to UAH 6.7 million, which is slightly lower than the fines imposed by the National Bank of Ukraine for violations in the field of financial monitoring. For example, in August of this year, the NBU imposed fines of UAH 10 million on three banks.

Among the main tax violations discovered during the inspections, Kristina Adamchuk named the same ones as last year: illegally formed reserves, delayed registration of tax invoices, as well as violation of deadlines for closing or opening customer accounts.

She also specified that the tax debt in the amount of UAH 77.6 million was recorded in only one bank, as in 2023. The name of the bank was not disclosed.
