In Ukraine, 36.2% of the total number of enterprises are headed by women

In Ukraine, the number of female managers is growing rapidly. Today, they head 236,000 enterprises, which is 36.2% of the total number. Last year, this figure was 35.2%. About this the data show State Statistics Service.

The field of education has traditionally remained dominated by women. State statistics show that 99% of kindergartens and 93% of libraries are headed by women. In addition, a significant share of female managers is observed in the fields of culture, health care and social services, which confirms the influence of women in these important fields.

In addition to the education sector, women actively occupy leadership positions in consumer cooperatives (58.6%), public administration (56.2%), local self-government (52%), trade unions (62%), and credit unions (54%). The fact that 79% of utility companies are also managed by women is particularly impressive.

The geographical distribution of women in managerial positions shows that the largest number of such enterprises is concentrated in Kyiv – 41 thousand. It is followed by Dnipropetrovsk region (19 thousand) and Odesa region (14 thousand), which demonstrates the active development of female business leadership in these regions.

However, despite the positive dynamics, women leaders face numerous challenges, including gender stereotypes, difficulties in accessing financing and the need to combine careers with family responsibilities.
