The Register of Damages has begun accepting applications for compensation for destroyed non-residential property

A new category has appeared in the International Register of Damages — from now on, war victims can apply for compensation for damage or destruction of non-residential real estate. About this reported press service of the register.
The application can be submitted by owners of non-residential objects in order to receive compensation — both for the costs of restoring damaged property and for completely destroyed buildings.
The application procedure is carried out through the Diya portal. To do this, it is necessary to authorize in the citizen’s office using an electronic signature, fill out a special form and specify information about the object, ownership, circumstances of damage, available evidence and the estimated amount of damages.
Once the application is submitted, it will be reviewed by the registry team and entered into the system. When the compensation payment mechanism is launched, the documents will be transferred to the future commission, which will decide on the provision of funds.
We will remind that the International Register of Damages Caused by Russia’s Aggression Against Ukraine was established in May 2023 during the first summit of the Council of Europe in 17 years. 37 member states of the Council of Europe, as well as Canada, the USA, Japan and the European Union joined the initiative.
