The targets of the strikes were also the leadership of the Iranian Armed Forces and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, as well as scientists involved in the nuclear program. The city of Qom, where many representatives of the spiritual elite of the Islamic Republic live, was also struck.

According to Netanyahu, Iran had stockpiled uranium for nine atomic bombs and intended to produce 10,000 ballistic missiles within three years. In his address, Netanyahu emphasized that in the rhetoric of the Iranian authorities, Israel is only “little Satan”, while the USA is considered the “big Satan”.

A state of emergency has been introduced in Israel. Schools, kindergartens, universities and all enterprises, except for critical infrastructure facilities, are closed. The country’s airspace is closed. Iran has also closed its airspace.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Israel attacked Iran “unilaterally”. A day earlier, the State Department urged American citizens in the Middle East to exercise maximum caution. Support personnel have been ordered to leave US embassies and military bases in the region.
