Israeli army announces restoration of ceasefire after strikes on Gaza Strip
The Israel Defense Forces announced the resumption of the ceasefire after a series of strikes on the Gaza Strip. This was reported in a statement by the IDF press service.
The agency noted that the Israeli military struck dozens of targets in the Gaza Strip in response to violations by Hamas, after which “the Israel Defense Forces began resuming the ceasefire”. The IDF also clarified that more than 30 militants who held command positions in Gaza were killed in the attacks.
“The Israel Defense Forces will continue to adhere to the ceasefire agreement and will respond decisively to any violation of it”, the IDF statement said.
As a reminder, on October 28, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the military to immediately launch “powerful strikes” on the Gaza Strip in response to repeated violations of the agreements by Hamas.
According to the Hamas-controlled Gaza Civil Defense Agency, at least 50 people were killed in the nighttime airstrikes. Residential buildings and schools were destroyed in Gaza City, Beit Lahia, al-Burayji, Nuseirat, and Khan Yunis.
