Israeli government approves plan for full occupation of Gaza Strip

The Israeli government has approved a plan to completely seize the Gaza Strip and then hold this territory indefinitely, while simultaneously ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid. About this informs CNN.

As part of the new military strategy, Israeli forces plan to push the Palestinian population into the southern areas of Gaza, continuing the fighting against the Hamas group and maintaining control over the occupied territories until victory is achieved.

The approved plan envisages the “conquest of Gaza” and keeping it under the control of the IDF. The decision was taken unanimously. Implementation of the plan is expected to begin after Donald Trump’s visit to the region, scheduled for next week. Until then, efforts to reach agreements with Hamas on a ceasefire and the release of hostages will continue.

According to the plan, the Israeli army would establish control over the area, relocate civilians to the south, strike Hamas militants and prevent humanitarian aid from reaching the group.

The government also approved the decision to resume the delivery of humanitarian goods to the Gaza Strip, at the same time revising the mechanism of their distribution to minimize the risks of aid capture by Hamas militants.

Meanwhile, humanitarian organizations operating in the occupied Palestinian territory have rejected the proposed new aid distribution system, saying it is likely to increase control over critical resources and will not ensure it reaches Gaza’s most vulnerable residents.

“The UN Secretary-General and the Emergency Relief Coordinator have made it clear that we will not participate in any scheme that does not respect the global humanitarian principles of humanity, impartiality, independence and neutrality,” – said in a joint statement of the groups.
