“It’s just a matter of optimizing management and the effective organization of the ministry’s work.” Venislavsky on dismissal of Umerov’s deputies

Defense Minister of Ukraine Rustem Umyerov decided to dismiss four of his deputies. This step attracted a lot of attention, however, as experts assure, the changes are not related to corruption scandals, but are aimed at optimizing management processes in the Ministry of Defense. The situation in the country’s defense sector is always under close scrutiny, so such decisions of the ministry attract significant public interest.
According to the report, Stanislav Hayder, Oleksandr Serhiy, Yuriy Dzhigyr and State Secretary Lyudmila Daragan were dismissed. It should be noted that Stanislav Heyder is not leaving the ministry, but will move to a new position – head of the Office of the Minister of Defense.
People’s deputy of the 9th convocation, member of the Verkhovna Rada committee on national security, defense and intelligence Fedir Venislavskyi believes, that the main reason for such a decision is management optimization. According to him, the committee had comments on the work of individual Umerov’s deputies, which became one of the reasons for personnel changes. Venislavsky noted that the dismissal is aimed at increasing the efficiency of the ministry’s work.
“In my opinion, this is an optimization of management. Because both on the committee and outside the committee there were indeed complaints about the work of Umerov’s deputies. There were questions for them. Therefore, such a decision is simply an optimization of management and a question of effective organization of the ministry’s work.” – emphasized the people’s deputy.
He also drew attention to the fact that currently there are no systemic problems with the provision of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, except for the general lack of funding.
“By and large, I cannot talk about any global, systemic problems in the supply of the armed forces of Ukraine. The main problem is the budget and money for financing the defense sector. Yesterday, we considered the real needs of the Ministry of Defense, and to cover them all, we need four times more money, than is actually allocated to the defense sector. And we all perfectly understand that there is no such money in the budget and there is nowhere to get it.” emphasized Venislavskyi.
However, the people’s deputy was surprised by the dismissal of Oleksandr Serhiy, who was appointed to the position only two months ago.
In addition, according to experts, such personnel changes are necessary to adapt the ministry to the challenges Ukraine is facing in wartime conditions.
We will remind that Rustem Umerov personally signed the petition to the Cabinet of Ministers about the dismissal of four of his deputies. Umerov promised to inform about new appointments, including deputy ministers, separately.
