Kharkiv is again under heavy shelling: about ten explosions rang out

On September 1, Kharkiv was shelled again – about ten powerful explosions rang out, disturbing the peace of the residents. As of 13:00, there is no detailed information about the consequences of the shelling.

Mayor of Kharkiv Ihor Terekhov addressed the residents of the city through his official channel Telegram, urging everyone to stay in shelters and stay out of the streets until further notice. The authorities are currently working on gathering information and assessing the situation.

“There is damage to civilian infrastructure and victims. The number is being specified. There is a threat of repeated strikes!”, reported Oleg Sinegubov, head of Kharkiv OVA, in Telegram.

Emergency services have been sent to the scene of the incident to provide assistance to the injured, if any. Communication with some areas of the city is currently complicated, which creates additional difficulties for rescuers.

Shelling of Kharkiv has been ongoing since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, and the city has repeatedly been the target of attacks.

“One of the strikes hit a private residential area. Several neighborhoods and a supermarket are on fire. There are casualties, including doctors.” – Mayor of Kharkiv Ihor Terekhov reported in Telegram.

The head of the OVA noted that the Russian Federation had struck about 10 strikes on Kharkiv. Two medics are among the wounded, the doctor is in serious condition.

“Blows were struck at 3 locations: the Kharkiv Palace of Sports, a shopping center in the Saltiv district, near the Hydropark in the Kyiv district.

Among the damages are the “Novaya Poshta” branch, shops, cars. The enemy aimed exclusively at civilian infrastructure. Elimination of consequences continues.

The number of victims in Kharkiv increased to 41, including 5 children.

People may still be under the rubble, so search and rescue operations continue.

One man, who works there as an electrician, was trapped in the rubble. He is safe now.

At least 6 flights were recorded near the sports complex, some of which hit the ground.” Synegubov said.

Ihor Terekhov also reported:

“Six injured in Nemyshlyansky district.

In the Saltiv district, 22 people were injured, including two children and two doctors.

Three cars were on fire. As a result of the shelling, there is a violation of the structure of the gas furnace. There is a fire. At the moment, 30 people have been evacuated. All relevant services are working on the spot.”
