Klitschko suggested that Ukraine “for the sake of peace” will have to give up some of the territories

Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko suggested that Ukraine will have to cede part of its territories in order to achieve peace. About this informs BBC.

“One of the scenarios is to give up the territory. It’s not fair. But for the sake of peace, a temporary peace, maybe that can be a solution, a temporary one,” – said the mayor of the Ukrainian capital.

Klitschko did not specify which territories were meant, but emphasized that Ukrainians “will never accept occupation” by Russia. He also stated that President Volodymyr Zelenskyi may be forced to make a “painful decision” in order to achieve peace.

At the same time, answering a question about whether Zelensky discussed any details of a possible peaceful settlement with him, Klitschko explained:

“President Zelenskyy is doing it himself. This is not my function.”

It will be recalled that earlier in the mass media there was information that the so-called “peace plan” of Donald Trump provides for the recognition of Crimea as part of Russia, as well as the unofficial recognition of the control of the Russian Federation over most of the territories seized after the start of a full-scale invasion in 2022.
