The Ministry of Internal Affairs presented an updated “112” application with video calls to rescue services
The Ministry of Internal Affairs announced an update to the “112” application, which includes new functions for communicating with emergency services. From now on, users can seek help not only through a regular call, but also via video call.
This solution is of particular importance for people with hearing impairments, as it allows them to communicate with operators in sign language and more quickly explain the situation during a call.
Another important update was the automatic transmission of geolocation when contacting the “112” service. Thanks to this, operators will be able to more quickly determine the location of the incident, even if the person cannot give an exact address or is in a stressful state. It is expected that this function will help reduce response time and speed up the dispatch of rescuers, doctors or law enforcement officers to the scene of the incident.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs notes that the new features should make contacting emergency services more convenient, accessible and effective for all users. The updated “112” application is already available for iOS and Android smartphones.
