NABU exposed the leadership of the State Financial Monitoring Service in withdrawing millions offshore

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, while investigating the case of alleged embezzlement during the construction of fortifications, has uncovered a money laundering scheme through Ukrainian and foreign companies. This was reported by People’s Deputy of Ukraine from the Holos party Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

According to him, in October last year, as part of the proceedings, detectives conducted searches in one of the premises in Kyiv on Moldovska Street. There, they found 278.05 thousand dollars, 3.343 million hryvnias, documents of the First Deputy Head of the State Financial Monitoring Service Bohdan Korolchuk, as well as registration documents, seals and powers of attorney of a number of companies and individual entrepreneurs.

These are 11 Ukrainian legal entities, 12 individual entrepreneurs, seven foreign companies, as well as structures registered in Cyprus, the Czech Republic and the British Virgin Islands. According to the deputy, NABU established that from January 1, 2024 to January 21, 2026, funds were received into the accounts of these companies for alleged goods and services.

“Furthermore, such funds were transferred between the accounts of the specified enterprises and accumulated in separate accounts, after which they were converted into currency and withdrawn to the accounts of non-resident firms”, — Zheleznyak noted.

The deputy also drew attention to the names of individual companies, which, according to him, were similar to the names of well-known international IT companies, but had no legal relationship to them.

“That is why they were named that way, so that you would not have any doubts”, — Zheleznyak added.

According to the deputy, the scheme continued after Philip Pronin became head of the State Financial Monitoring Service. The pre-trial investigation into the case is currently ongoing.
