Ministry of Defence announces the number of new drones authorised for service in the Armed Forces

The Ministry of Defense announced the number of new drones admitted to service in the Armed Forces

Since the beginning of 2024, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has codified and authorized for use in the Armed Forces more than 140 unmanned aerial systems (UAVs) and 33 ground-based robotic systems of Ukrainian production. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.

It is interesting that more than 40% of these drones were codified in the third quarter, which, according to the ministry, indicates an increase in the production of military equipment in Ukraine.

For comparison, during 2023, 60 unmanned aircraft complexes and 9 ground robotic complexes of domestic production were codified.

Among the new BPACs that have received permission for use are those that are resistant to radio-electronic warfare (ERW), low-noise, radio-transparent, equipped with homing and self-destruction systems.

Ukrainian gunsmiths are actively developing various types of aviation drones — from kamikaze drones and bombers to reconnaissance and corrective models. These drones are classified by design type (aircraft, copter) and range (tactical, operational, strategic).

It will be recalled that in September it was announced that new domestic Black Widow bomber drones will be delivered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Oleksandr Kamyshin, the Minister of Strategic Industries, also announced the launch of serial production of Ukrainian analogues of the Shaheds.
